Description

Promoting Mental Health and PSHE to Enable Academic Achievement for Children and Young People in Bucks

The 2018 Emotional Wellbeing in Schools Conference is being delivered by Buckinghamshire County Council's Public Health team in partnership with our local partners who are members of the Children and Young People's Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Group.

The main focus for this year’s conference will be drawing together the proposals within the Government’s Green Paper (Transforming Mental Health Services for Children and Young People) on children’s mental health in schools and PSHE.

The conference aims to:

Raise: awareness of how proposals of the Green Paper supports the provision of good qualty PSHE in promoting children and young people's mental health;
Provide: an opportunity to engage and share best practice for taking forward and implementing the proposals of the Green Paper;
Equip: attendees’ knowledge and skills by providing practical advice and resources to enable schools to implement 'whole-school' approaches to promoting mental health.

Delegates will leave this conference with a better understanding of how the Green Paper's proposals, relating to mental wellbeing in schools, supports the provision of good quality PSHE in promoting children and young people's mental health. Delegates will receive practical strategies for embedding a framework and foundation for the 'whole school' approach to promoting mental health.
